It’s a like a dream come true scene for Vidya, who is now a part of a film which she loved watching last year. As per news sources Vidya will be seen playing the role essayed by Rituparna Sengupta in the original of that of the madam of the brothel in Begum Jaan which sets the Bollywood debut of Srijit.
“It's a powerful and moving film. Rituparna is wonderful and so is the rest of the cast. It's easily one of the most interesting scripts, I have got so far,” Vidya has been quoted by a publication saying on being a part of the project.
Produced by Mahesh Bhatt and set to roll in June, the film depicts the after effects of the Partition in Bengal in 1947 and how it affects the lives of 11 women living in a brothel that finds itself divided by the newly-chalked LOC, which results into the half of the house in India and the other half in Pakistan.
