7 Times Sunny Leone Was Absolutely Frank About Her Past.
Sunny finally decided to open up about her X-rated past, and you need to hear this!
1) “I got so much hate from the Indian community”
Sunny says that she got bullied a lot as a teenager when she first posed for Penthouse, an adult magazine. And she reminisces about how stressful it was to listen to all the nasty things being said about her, all at the age of 19.
2) “It’s safer to have a relationship with someone in the adult entertainment industry”
Sunny asserts that, “Every single person in the adult entertainment industry in America is tested every three weeks” and that it is probably much safer to sleep with one, rather than with some stranger you met at the bar. Surprised? We surely are!
3) “I’d be lying if I said they were supportive”
Speaking up about her parents, Sunny said that she decided to finally let her parents in on her secret career right after she won Penthouse Pet of the Year award. She wanted to be the one to tell them, rather than some random relative. She says that her parents took a lot of time to deal with it but gradually, they understood and respected her.
4) “People equate adult stars with prostitutes”
Since India does not have an adult entertainment industry, a lot of people think that adult stars are prostitutes, according to Sunny. And we second you on that one, Sunny.
5) “Casting couch has never happened to me”
Luckily, for Sunny, she has never encountered anyone who has asked her for favours in return for a job. Like an actual job, no pun here.
6) “Sunny just happens to be my brother’s nickname”
The only reason why Karenjit Vohra chose Sunny as her on-screen alias is because she didn’t really give a lot of thought to it, and that it is also her brother’s nickname! Sigmund Freud approves.
7) “I am not ashamed of what I have done”
Sunny doesn’t shy away from her past, and in fact attributes it to her current success today. “I can’t erase all the things I’ve done,” she goes on to add. But at the end of the day, she is happy and proud of where she is today, and so are we!
It takes immense courage to defend your choices in a country where sexuality is frowned upon. We salute your strength, Sunny! Pun not intended.
