2. Unfreedom

The latest film to come under the Censor Board scanner, this film features a lesbian relationship, with an Islamic terrorism angle to it! This mix was simply too much for the Censors and it was allowed to release in only a few of the Indian States.


3. Kamasutra

This masterpiece by Mira Nair received great critical acclaim all over but sadly, was halted by the Censors due to it being ‘too explicit’ and ‘immoral.’ Ironic, isn’t it? It’s not as if Kamasutra originated IN INDIA?


4. Gandu

This black and white Bengali ‘rap musical’ was banned for its explicit sex scenes and use of drugs. But the film is a great watch, story-wise! *he he he*


5. Firaaq

This was a film which dealt with the Gujarat riots and the Hindu-Muslim communal hatred. Despite receiving great reviews, the film got banned.


6. Fire

Deepa Mehta’s ‘Fire’ featured a lesbian relationship between two sisters-in-laws! This was just too much for the Censor Board to handle!


7. Water

A film that dared to look into the lives of widows in India; ‘Water’ was banned by the censors simply because it highlighted issues like ostracism and misogyny.

2. Katrina Kaif – Boom

Katrina had the (bad) luck of sharing her first onscreen kiss in Bollywood with Gulshan Grover! And not only did they just kiss, the scene was so hot that the censors had to edit it out of the film!


3. Kareena Kapoor Khan – Dev

Kareena had already done 14 films before Dev, and in neither of these 14 films did she kiss one! But this long awaited kiss, with Fardeen Khan won her a Filmfare Critics Award for ‘Best Actress.’ Totally worth it, we say!


4. Anushka Sharma – Badmaash Company

In a very ‘realistic-looking’ scene, Anushka Sharma locked her lips with Shahid Kapoor for her first, and a very short, onscreen kiss! Thankfully the scene’s so short that neither Mira, nor Virat will object to it!


5. Sonam Kapoor – Bewakoofiyan

After a string of moderately successful films, it seems that Sonam decided to go ‘all-out’ in Bewakoofiyan. Not only did she kiss her onscreen lover Ayushmann Khurrana, but she also sported a bikini for the film! Unfortunately, even this did not guarantee the film a success at the box office.


6. Deepika Padukone – Bachna Ae Haseeno

How romantic/sad is it that Deepika shared her first onscreen kiss with her then boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor? We believe that it was this magical kiss that sealed the romantic deal (which wouldn’t last long).


7. Priyanka Chopra – Aitraaz

Priyanka scandalized the audiences with her super-hot seduction scene in Aitraaz where she sexily smooched Akshay Kumar. Their chemistry was so sizzling that Twinkle Khanna objected to them working together in the future. Ironically, Aitraaz means Objection!
